Congratulations, Deborah Diesen, on the release of your new picture book, The Barefooted, Bad-Tempered Baby Brigade. Love saying that title! (Tricycle Press; illustrations by Tracy Dockray.)
I was lucky enough to see an advanced copy at the ALA’s mid-winter conference earlier this year. It’s a fun, rhyming romp—babies marching in protest of the many injustices they must endure. (Power to the Pampers!) Some good laughs, and some good ribbing of us parents in this one.
You can check out an excerpt here. While my own baby is several years out of diapers (“Mom, I can’t even believe you’d write that!”), she’ll enjoy the book’s spirit, and we’ll enjoying reading it aloud to our youngest family members.
